Before we build it, we want to ask you
We have been watching many of you go through the same steps: open Catalog to create a wedding package, then go to Calendar to create a calendar and link it to the package, then head to Contracts to create a template and link that too. Three separate pages, several steps in each, and hoping you have not forgotten any of the manual connections.
That is too much work for something that should be simple.
Before changing anything, we wanted to share how we see it and ask whether it makes sense to you.
How it works today
A "session type" in PhotoHeart is actually three separate things:
- A package (price, photos included, products, upgrades)
- A calendar (duration, availability schedule, deposit)
- A contract template (terms, signature type)
All three have to exist separately and then be linked manually. If you need to change something in one of them, you have to navigate to that specific page. If you want to know which contract a package has linked, you have to remember it or go looking.
How we see it
The idea is simple: the package becomes the center of everything.
One session type = one package + its calendar + its contract. All in one place.
When creating a new session type, a three-step guide would walk you through it:
Step 1: The package. Name, price, photos included, products — the usual.
Step 2: The calendar. Link an existing one, or create it right here. Duration, schedule, deposit, all in the same flow. No need to go to another page.
Step 3: The contract. Link an existing template, or create one here. If you already have one that works for several packages, you can reuse it.
The result: open a package and see everything at a glance — which calendar it has, which contract, what schedule.
What else would change in the navigation
We would also simplify the sidebar:
- Calendar would take you straight to your appointments, skipping the management page
- Contracts would take you straight to signed contracts
- Calendar and template management would move to Settings, where it makes more sense
Your opinion matters
This feature is planned but not yet built. Before we start, we want to make sure it solves real problems for you.
If you have a minute, it would help us a lot if you answered these questions — you can write to us directly in the support chat:
1. Do you create appointments without a package? For example, for one-off events or special situations where a package does not make sense.
2. How do you currently link your packages, calendars and contracts? Do you follow a specific order? Do you sometimes forget a step?
3. Do you share the same contract template across multiple packages? For example, the same contract for weddings and communions.
4. Would it help if creating an appointment automatically selected the calendar and contract based on the chosen package?
There are no right or wrong answers. Every response helps us make better decisions.
Thank you for being here from the beginning.
