A gallery with an expiration date only works if your client knows when their time runs out. We have reviewed the two automatic notices that tell them, the gallery ready notice and the gallery expiring notice, and improved them.
A more reliable reminder
The gallery expiring reminder is sent by a daily automated task. We have reinforced that delivery so the notice goes out reliably every day, for all accounts.
Sent the day before
Before, the reminder went out on the same day the gallery expired. Now it is sent the day before the deadline, which is when it is still useful.
The message also states the deadline correctly: it says "today" or "tomorrow" as appropriate, calculated from the actual expiration date.
The date, on WhatsApp too
The WhatsApp messages for both notices didn't say until when the gallery was available. Now they include the date and time:
Your photo gallery is ready. Available until Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
Your photo gallery expires tomorrow. Available until Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
In addition, the gallery ready email states how many days your client has to view their photos and make their selection. That way the deadline is clear from the first message, not only in the reminder.
Clients without an email
Some clients are ones you only have a phone number for. Until now, if the email was missing, the WhatsApp for both notices wasn't sent either.
That is no longer the case: the gallery ready and gallery expiring notices are sent on WhatsApp even if the client has no email saved.
Send time, in your local time
In Settings → Notifications you can see what time the automatic reminders go out. That time was shown in UTC as if it were yours. Now it is shown in your local time.
For example, the gallery expiring reminder goes out at 8:00 UTC. On Spanish mainland time in October you will see 10:00.
What you need to do
Nothing. The changes are already live in version 2.44.1 and apply to the notices you already had configured.
If you want to review them, go to Settings → Notifications: there you can see which notices are active, what time they are sent and a preview of each message.
